My June Birchbox Review – “Face The Day”

I always love getting my Birchbox in the mail; it’s like a little surprise present from myself and I get to try out new products, which is something I prefer to do before buying anything for the first time. This month’s Birchbox theme is “Face The Day” and I got some great products: dry shampoo, primer, BB cream, blush, and a purifying facial mask.

COOLA Organic BB+ cream – this cream feels great on my skin. I have the light-medium shade, but sadly it doesn’t match my pale skin tone. I can’t wait to get darker throughout the summer so I can use it! Full-Sized Price: $52

Duo Blush from The Beauty Crop – This was probably the most interesting out of all of the samples this month. You get a creamy side and a powder side; it has kale, aronia berry, pomegranate, and papaya in it. I’m excited to use this because I don’t use blush much, and have never used a creamy blush before. Full-Sized Price: $10

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer – This is another product I am adding to my skincare regimen, again. I’ve gone through a full size of this before, but haven’t used sine discovering Benefits Porefessional Face Primer. After using this, I remembered why I love it so much: the feeling as you smooth it on to your skin, and the fact that the littlest bit goes a long way! A major plus is that is a game changer for your foundation; I recommend to anyone who doesn’t use a primer before foundation to try this one. The finished look of my makeup has changed drastically since adding this primer to my routine. Full size $36

JUARA Rose + Willowbark Purifying Mask – I love using face masks, and I am always looking for something to minimize pores, or something for combination and oily skin. I am only on my third use of it, but I have noticed a difference in my skin and it has helped minimize my pores. Full size $38

amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo – I own a lot of amika hair care products, my favorite being the heat protectant oil that I use almost daily. I don’t use dry shampoo much, but I have to say that this is definitely my new go-to. I went out on a limb and used this instead of my Batiste Blonde Dry Shampoo, and it worked great. Batiste definitely gets the job done, but adds a little bit of grease to my roots and bangs; this didn’t, and my hair felt great after working an almost 12 hour shift. Full size: $22

Out of all of the samples, I would say that the Smashbox primer and amika dry shampoo are my favorites. What did you get in your Birchbox this month?
